I have a webhosting & graphic design business, do I need a business license?

I was wondering if me and my other staff member need a business license? Is not having one illegal?

It depends on were you are. But most places. YES. Its illegal to have a business running with out one. If they find out you could be shut down

Yes, you should apply for a business license to obtain a tax identification number which may be required for many freelance jobs.
